This song was written in the midst of a breakup back in 2016, and essentially acts as a followup to Tuesday Afternoon. As the final track on the album, it was important to me that I left it all on the table, which is why you hear me essentially screaming on the final chorus. This, to me, is by far my most emotionally revealing track. And while I will never truly grow to fill his shoes, I had Chester Bennington's memory in my heart as I let loose in those final takes.
lyrics
I should never have saved the date when we've made all these plans for the Fall
Falling short of all things but one, we've begun a whole new world in your arms
And though I've known you for some time
I've finally seen the glow in your eyes
'Cause after all, no I don't have to say sorry at all
This house is burning
Out of my disregard, found another place to call home
The world keeps turning
Dancing in a flaming space, falling when I see your face
And darling, don't you know?
Isn't it my fault to earn? Terrified I've lost my turn
And darling, don't you go
I don't know if I should be brave or lose faith when time took brothers and all
Insofar as all I can see, I'll be free to chase my chances, but what?
And though we made not one mistake
This tomorrow's lost to the flames
'Cause after all, no I don't have to say sorry at all
This house is burning
Out of my disregard, found another place to call home
The world keeps turning
Dancing in a flaming space, falling when I see your face
And darling, don't you know?
Isn't it my fault to earn? Terrified I've lost my turn
And darling, don't you go
Fall to kingdom come
'Cause after all, no I don't have to say sorry at all
This house is burning
Out of my disregard, found another place to call home
The world keeps turning
Dancing in a flaming space, falling when I see your face
And darling, don't you know?
Isn't it my fault to earn? Terrified I've lost my turn
And darling, don't you go
Fall to kingdom come
And darling, don't you go
